Had it not been for a Good Samaritan, Milo, an American bulldog, might not have survived, but this senior’s extraordinary circumstances and the need for immediate care places the extremely friendly dog at risk for losing his life on Thursday at Miami-Dade Animal Services. According to Urgent Dogs of Miami, a popular networking site to help dogs and cats in the Miami are find homes, Milo’s medical needs have been documented as follows:
“Milo – an 11-year-old American bulldog. Pet presents for a recheck – quiet, alert, responsive and hydrated. Oral mucous membranes are pale pink and moist with a capillary refill time of less than 2 seconds. The bandage placed yesterday was removed. The ulcerated mass on the prepuce (foreskin)begins bleeding as soon as bandage removed. Lightly cleaned with sterile saline and new light bandage applied. Pet was observed to be licking at the bandage/mass, so an Elizabethan collar was applied to prevent exacerbation.
Due to age and suspected neoplasia (abnormal growth of tissue) and need for further diagnostics and care, recommend transfer to rescue prior to 6:00 p.m. on 6/8/17. Humane euthanasia may be indicated if condition deteriorates.”
Milo is extremely affectionate, and volunteers describe how cute he is as he happily wags his little nub of a tail. It is suspected he was abandoned by his owner. Share this dog’s plight with approved rescue organizations, friends, family and social media contacts. Sharing saves lives, and Milo only has animal advocates to help, since his family most likely tossed him away as if his life no longer mattered. Follow his Facebook page here.
