In Fort Worth, Texas, a neglected five-month-old puppy spent nearly her entire life fending for herself. Her past – although extremely brief is unknown, but a dog so young and abandoned on the streets, most likely would never have made it to her first birthday.
Fortunately, the pup dubbed Deja Blue, was neither ignored nor forgotten. Although it was cold and rainy with temperatures dipping below 50 degrees, a Good Samaritan had previously taken a photo of the puppy running through the streets. And although Deja Blue hid from her would-be rescuers, no one stopped looking for the pitiful five-month-old puppy in desperate need of help. When finally Animal Control was able to capture her and bring her back to the shelter, a new and better life was soon to begin.
“At five-months-old, Deja Blue found herself in a shelter with self-made wounds from constant scratching and biting herself hoping the itchiness would stop; her body swollen from infections. Her cries are so gentle, almost as she doesn’t want to disturb others with her discomfort. Today we looked into a puppy’s eyes and promised her a life without pain,” stated Stacey Silverstein, co founder of Rescue Dogs Rock NYC, who offered to help the puppy despite knowing how expensive her recovery and rehabilitation could be.
On Sunday morning, the rescue organization reported that Deja Blue has been transferred to their partner vet hospital where she will receive life saving treatment. To donate to the puppy’s treatment, please click here or directly Paypal:

RDR is one awesome rescue!! Thank you for saving her.
What’s with the southern states, so much animal cruelty. Sending love and prayers she will survive and recoup and find a loving home.
