Just two weeks ago, the Pasadena Humane Society introduced us to a brave and resilient puppy dubbed Peanut. The puppy arrived at the shelter with traumatic injuries on March 9 after he had been found in Sierra Madre.

When tiny Peanut arrived at the rescue organization, everyone had been shocked and heartbroken at the condition he had been in; the puppy had suffered from an injury that left him without most of his nose and a dislocated jaw. And despite the pain and the fear Peanut felt, he was a survivor. He never lost trust in the people who were there to help.
Despite all he’d been through, Peanut’s playful personality continued to shine, capturing the hearts of everyone he met.
Because there had not been enough skin to close the wound, Peanut’s nose has been slow to heal. In order to help him breathe, a stent had been placed in his nostril to keep it open.

While the medical staff has told us, Peanut’s nose will not regrow, it has been slowly healing. Unfortunately, the veterinarians were not able to keep Peanut’s nostril open, but he has adapted well to breathing through his mouth.

After weeks of care, Peanut is now ready for the next step in his healing journey––finding his forever home!
