Late last week the Pasadena Humane Society introduced us to a brave and resilient puppy dubbed Peanut. The puppy arrived at the shelter with traumatic injuries on March 9 after he had been found in Sierra Madre.

When tiny Peanut arrived at the rescue organization, everyone had been shocked and heartbroken at the condition he had been in; the puppy had suffered from that left him without most of his nose and a dislocated jaw. And despite the pain and the fear Peanut felt, he was a survivor. He continues to be brave and so resilient.
The veterinary team acted quickly to get Peanut the help he needed. Because there was not enough skin to close the wound, Peanut’s nose has to heal slowly from the inside out over the next several weeks. In order to help him breathe, a stent was placed to keep his nostrils open while he heals.

Peanut still has a long healing journey ahead, but he’s already showing us how resilient he is. Yet, Peanut doesn’t let his injury distract him from being an adorable puppy. He loves the affection from the staff, wags his tail in glee and attacks the soft play toys with fire in his bright blue eyes.
The donations and support from generous donors and the warm hearted animal advocates following the puppy’s healing journey, ensures that when other animals arrive with severe injuries, the organization is able to provide lifesaving treatment, no matter how complex.
Right now, Peanut needs your support. Your gift today to the Miracle Medical Fund will be matched – dollar for dollar – up to $7,500 by our generous donor, Fetch Pet Insurance.
More than $23,000 has been raised as of Friday to help Peanuts and other dogs in desperate need.
Thanks to this wonderful matching opportunity; you can provide DOUBLE the care that Peanut and so many others animals like him depend.
