Humans failed this dog for years until kindest couple spotted him under a car

In Compton, California, two Good Samaritans spotted a terribly matted tiny dog over the weekend hiding under a car in the unbearable heat. He was so quiet lying there, but no doubt he had been suffering in silence. His entire body was covered in what appeared to have been years of severe matting.

There was so much matting that no one could tell if the dog was a boy or a girl at the time. He could barely move his legs; all four limbs had been weighed down by the thick, painful layers of neglect covering every part of the body.

When Suzette Hall, founder of the nonprofit animal rescue, Logan’s Legacy 29, was called she rushed to his side. Just looking at him, Hall’s heart was shattered.

This poor baby didn’t have a voice. This sweet baby couldn’t tell anyone I am hurting, couldn’t ask for help. Just simply suffered… day after day, year after year.

The moment he was lured out from under the vehicle, he was rushed directly to Hall’s partner veterinarian. The dog would need to be sedated in order to safely remove what likely had been years and years of matted fur. Then his skin underneath would have to be assessed for damage.

The next day, he was placed under anesthesia. He was completely shaved down to his skin to remove the horrific matting. That’s when it was discovered, he was a boy. It appears he may have never had a haircut in his entire life. The neglect was unimaginable.

And then there’s even more heartbreaking news. This dog has a microchip, but no one is calling back. This level of neglect is abuse.

In addition to his skin issues, he has a large fatty lump that will need to be checked, as well as his eyes will requirefurther examining. He is estimated to be about 11 years old.

Who knows how long he suffered under cars in the scorching heat, trapped inside all that matting, in agony and pain with no way to ask for help?

But those days are over now.
