Bugaboo thought she had a home of her own where everyone loved her, and she loved everyone. Suddenly, she was surrendered to the Rockdale Animal Shelter. Maybe her skin inflammation was too much for her owners to address? Maybe they just didn’t want to be bothered?

But what about Bugaboo’s feelings?
A shelter volunteer had been there when the owners brought Bugaboo to the shelter. The staff reminded the owners that surrendered dogs are often the first to be euthanized if no one steps up to adopt them. It didn’t seem to matter.

No doubt Bugaboo could not figure out why her family walked away. At first she just sat in the kennel and whimpered. Surely, she thought they just forgot to take her home, and surely they would come back. She stood up and looked at them wondering if she had done something wrong.

Why did they walk away?
Bugaboo is scheduled to lose her life on November 20. The shelter is overcrowded, and her life is dispensable. She can only be adopted by an approved rescue organization because of her skin issues. She is also missing part of her tail. She will need to be examined by a veterinarian upon her release.
A staff member tried to comfort her and gave her a toy to ease her broken heart. Please share her plight with friends, family and social media contacts. We can save her life.
