Just a few days ago, a tiny, abandoned dog left to roam the busy streets of Coachella, had not given up waiting for her family to return; except they never did. It’s not as if she had a calendar and could mark off the days. All she knew was the loneliness, the hunger and the thirst she felt; so much so she had to eat dirt. Passersby didn’t even look her way. They walked by her, and no one offered her a helping hand. No one offered her any food and nor even a cup of water.

It had been Faith Easdale, a well-known and respected rescuer who had been contacted to help. Her friend, Francella had discovered the tiny stray when she rescued a cat from a storm drain. She was told this little dog had been sitting and waiting in the same spot for a month.

Faith and her team set up humane traps, and it wasn’t long before the dog was safe. Her belly looked quite round, and her rescuers hoped she wasn’t pregnant. Just the thought of her having puppies in the bushes where people walked by her as if she didn’t exist, had been so unsettling and sad.
These poor animals out there just trying to survive it is absolutely heartbreaking
I feel absolutely exhausted from all of the weight of their suffering, trying to stay ahead pay bills, help dogs in hospitals and when we have no place, try to figure out how to pay for emergency boarding while praying fosters will step up.
Emergency help in donations is desperately needed. These dogs all have medical needs, vaccinations, spay, neuter and at times boarding fees. Rescue is not glamorous, but the bravest and the most generous people put their own lives and luxuries aside to make the difference.
Meet Coachella:
Check out her rescue here:
Coachella took days to relax and begin to trust and understand the people who rescued her were there to help her. There was a concern her stomach digestion had been severely compromised from eating so much dirt. Imagine all that she could find to stave off the pain was dirt?

Fortunately she finally defecated, and it was all sand.

She hasn’t been trusting me until today. I finallyy got a tail wag. It takes a while for them to realize they’re safe and realize you’re someone they can trust.
