Four years ago, Nala had been adopted by a family who promised to love her and give her a “furever” home. The beagle mix had been found as a one-year-old stray scrounging for food in the streets of the United Arab Emirates.

Puppies are just so adorable, and within a very short time, Nala found a home and lived there for four years. Sadly, just weeks ago, the shelter Al Mayya K9 Adoptions were notified, requesting that Nala be returned because she “didn’t like strangers coming into the house and would growl and become nervous.”
Al Mayya K9 Adoptions is a dog rescue organization based in Surrey, UK and Fuj UAE.
Desperately wanting Nala to stay in her home, the rescue organization offered to help with further training and behavior modification from professional trainers. They asked her family to separate the dog into another room when guests came to visit, but the family didn’t follow through on the behavioral training and ultimately decided to return Nala to the shelter.
This is how confused Nala was while being led to her kennel:
Needless to say, everyone was just devastated for Nala. Having to start all over again trying to find a home? How does anyone explain to a dog they are no longer wanted by the family they thought would love and care for them forever?

The next morning, a shelter person came into Nala’s kennel to meet her. The pup’s confused face truly broke everyone’s heart, but Nala – being the sweetest dog ever, approached the woman with tail wagging and easily accepted treats and hugs.
Here’s Day 1 of Nala’s shelter stay:
