Meet handsome, five-year-old Duke. This German shepherd still has hope in his eyes; maybe he thinks his family is coming back to take him home? Sadly, that isn’t going to happen. Duke was surrendered to Dallas Animal Services on April 6, and he desperately needs to find a rescue group, a foster or a new family to adopt him before April 19.
According to volunteer notes, Duke was turned in for his behavior towards people he doesn’t know. In addition, the 70 pound dog is suffering from significant hair loss over his entire body. His skin is extremely irritated. After skin testing, he was administered Bravecto and Cytopoint, an antibody used to treat atopic dermatitis in dogs.
Duke is a very smart dog and knows how to sit and shake. He is a big fan of treats, so treats may be the key to his heart.

“Oh, hello! I’m so excited that you’re checking out my profile! I’ve had so many interesting adventures lately, but I’m really looking forward to settling down with a new family. As for Duke’s behavior at the shelter, it was noted he was slightly skittish, tail tucked in, barked at the trainer when approached. The owner did mention he can be more skittish with people he doesn’t know.
