After having been abandoned at a secluded trailer park in the gator infested Everglades, located on the outskirts of Miami, two dogs managed to watch out for each other and soon became best friends. No one cared about them, and the pair managed to thwart their worst enemies and survived. Some of the local residents were cruel; they repeatedly tried to hurt the dogs just to get them to leave.
When the two canine pals were finally reported to animal control, officers from Miami Dade Animal Services arrived and brought them to the shelter. Rescue advocates had hoped the safety of the shelter would have provided needed medical care and adoption options for the two closely bonded dogs. After all, the two had been each other’s comfort and support for an unknown amount of time. Surely, the shelter personnel would keep the two together.
It had been on February 26 when they arrived:
they came into the shelter together after both were abandoned. they were found at a gator infested swamp. All they had were each other; now both sit at the shelter alone and scared.

Just three days ago, someone adopted Alfonso. Nala was left all alone, and she continues to be very depressed. She’s alone, and no one wants her.

Skin hot spot , clip and clean with chlorhex saline and apply Gentam spray. Open wound medial 4th digit RFL, cleaned.
No sedation needed.
RADS toes RFL A/P ; No visible fracture or lysis, soft tissue trauma / wound.
