A 16-year-old golden retriever found by police and taken to Miami-Dade Animal Services this week had a heartbreaking story, but thanks to the Golden Rescue South Florida, Bud’s future, however long he has left, will be one with lots of love, care and comfort.

It was less than a week ago when Bud’s heartbreaking story went viral. The dog’s only owner had passed away several months ago, but it remained quite murky what care Bud had received, if any, since that time. Bud had been through so much; facing blindness, labored breathing, an open wound on his side and having difficulty walking, and there he was – an unwanted senior dog at an overcrowded Florida shelter.

Shelter information had indicated Bud had nipped at someone; euthanasia was scheduled, and Bud’s life was about to end. Rescuers called out for help; their pleas worked.

On Wednesday, Golden Rescue South Florida stepped up to help.

today, bud came into our rescue, and we’re committed to makeing the rest of his time, however long or short, as comfortable and loves as possible. he’s currently receiving 24/7 vet hospice care at #extracareanimalhospital.
