At 15-years-old, Max is at San Antonio Animal Care Services Adoption in Texas, hoping a special someone will finally provide him with some kindness and care. According to the shelter, he is receiving medical care at this time, although there has not been any specific treatment described.

Sadly, there are not many families interested in adopting senior dogs, no less a senior needing medical care, but we are appealing on Max’s behalf for someone to see beyond the matting of his once beautiful coat and his slower pace, and help him recover his pride and health for however long he has left to really enjoy being a carefree dog. How sweet it would be for him to wake up in the morning to look forward to after a good night’s sleep. How sweet it would be for him to have his food and water always available, to go for a ride to the park or cuddle up in a soft bed.

Max is in danger of being euthanized this week July 12; time is short for an old guy who apparently roamed the area for a long time with no place to call home.

He’s from my neighborhood. I had posted him on our nextdoor trying to figure out who he belongs to..

He’d hang out and one house but mostly roams. Apparently been doing that for many years.
