A terribly neglected dog was found in Boardman, Ohio on Tuesday and brought to the Mahoning County Dog Warden. Dubbed Bently, the painfully, tightly matted dog embedded with feces, was rushed to Medvet for emergency life-saving care.

The veterinarians and staff carefully examined the underweight dog who was soon sedated in order that his painful matting could comfortably be removed.

What are left of his teeth … are rotten. His eyes are infected and he may be blind. He has fleas and his ear is infected as well.

He previously had his front leg amputated so he is a little tripod. They also found a mammary mass that will need furth testing to determine what it is.

And there is a deep void in everyone’s heart concerning Bently, and it is hoped he will be feeling much better soon. If anyone knows who this boy belonged to, please contact the Mahoning County Dog Warden. Someone must remember a friend or neighbor who had a three-legged dog. Whoever allowed this kind of neglect, needs to be held responsible. Animal cruelty is a crime.

  1. I am very happy for this precious little treasure getting the veterinary care that he was deprived of earlier. I hope he recovers ASAP and is rehomed into a loving furever family who will love him and support him for his entire life. He deserves to be a treasured family member!!!
