In an emergency situation in South Texas, the Dallas Dog-Rescue.Rehab.Reform has shared an ongoing, complex rescue effort involving the lives of two starving mother dogs and their collective litters of 19 tiny puppies needing emergency help.
The rescue effort started three days ago when a Good Samaritan spotted a severely, malnourished dog dubbed Annie. After giving her food and water, the finder noticed Annie had still been producing milk – evidence of a recent pregnancy which led to the discovery of a litter of five puppies.
As rescuers returned to the original location where Annie had first appeared, and to make sure all the puppies had been found, there was another dog – Annie’s sister guarding and caring for her 8 six-week-old puppies. Sadly, two of the puppies had already perished from the intense heat and lack of care.
Once the owner of the dogs had been located and confronted, after they had claimed there had only been one litter of puppies, rescuers combed the area and more puppies could be heard crying.
we uncovered another litter of puppies scattered across the property, all near death due to starvation, dehydration and overheating.

Now the rescue organization faces the challenge of caring for two mother dogs – one with a broken leg and a total of 19 puppies. Every single life has presented in critical condition and all the moms and the surviving puppies are requiring emergency medical treatment.
