At Miami-Dade Animal Services, a 15-year-old dog named Princess, had been confiscated from her home because of neglect and abuse. And as if her life doesn’t really matter, the shelter has decided to schedule her to be humanely euthanized today.

Princess has medical issues which precludes her from being adopted by the general public, but why should any senior dog not have an opportunity to retire safely? Why can’t Princess be allowed to be pampered just as her name suggests?

Her veterinary notes include the following:

Her name is #PRINCESS#A1115813 She’s a 74lb senior who came in on 5/18 and received an immediate plea with a 5/19 deadline!

Older pet that is not walking Needs Rescue Urgently – Confiscation case – pet is due out 5/25/23

non ambulatory, pitting edema secondary to liver disease vs. Gi disease vs. kidney disease

Shouldn’t it be Princess’ prerogative in life to hear the words “I love you” instead of “hurry up it’s closing time”? Please don’t stop sharing her plight.
