At the Niagara SPCA, Goose entered the shelter as a stray, and it’s doubtful that anyone will ever know his whole story. What is known however, is that he could have suffered thermal burns or maybe he was dragged along the pavement. Could something hot had been thrown, dumped or spilled on him, or did someone get angry at him because he was just being playful?

Goose is still just a puppy, and veterinarians estimate his age to be between six months and one year. Goose will be having a long road to recovery, and his wounds will be cleaned and bandages changed every other day for the next six to eight weeks.

The puppy remains on antibiotics, ointments and pain medication to prevent any infections and to keep him comfortable. And it never ceases to amaze everyone how forgiving and loving this young pup remains.

He went into foster care last night and he doesn’t want to be alone – he literally won’t let his foster parents out of his sight.
