Senior shepherd Spikey needs tall order of ‘TLC’ and love

Spikey is only eight-years-old, which of course rates him as a senior, but this friendly boy has lots of love and life to give to someone – that is if he can be adopted and freed from the Downey Animal Shelter in California.

Volunteers describe him as a classic German shepherd that should have a long lush coat. Instead he as lots of hair missing; sadly a symptom of neglect and a poor diet. Spikey, however is as forgiving as he is handsome. The gentle and easy-going pooch calmly waits for someone to help him.

“Easily handled. He has the most deserving heart. He is at the perfect age of 8. He is a #gsdcatch. With or without hair,” a volunteer wrote on Spikey’s Facebook information.
