Heartbreaking: Adorable bonded pair with no one left to love

benji-and-bruno-2All you have to do is look at their faces, and it’s quite apparent how utterly miserable Benji and Bruno are after they were surrendered on November 30 by their former human companion. The adorable bonded pair have lost their home and their family; neither pup expected to be shivering in fear in a shelter cage at the over crowded East Valley Animal Shelter in California. Surely they are wondering what they could have done wrong to have been abandoned.

Click here for Benji’s Pet Harbor listing. #A1436340. “My name is Benji and I am a neutered male, black and tan Yorkshire terrier mix. The shelter thinks I am about 3 years old. I weigh approximately 20 pounds. I have been at the shelter since Nov 30, 2016.” For more information about this animal, call Los Angeles Animal Services – East Valley Shelter at (888) 452-7381.

Click here for Bruno’s Pet Harbor listing. #A1670323. “My name is Bruno and I am a neutered male, brown and white American Staffordshire terrier.
The shelter thinks I am about 2 years and 1 month old. I weigh approximately 85 pounds. I have been at the shelter since Nov 30, 2016.”

Follow their Facebook page here. Benji and Bruno are very depressed, and it is hoped the two can be adopted together. According to their former owner, the dogs get along fine with children, other dogs and cats. Share their plight with approved rescue organizations, friends, family and social media contacts. Sharing saves lives.

It saddens me every time I see a bonded pair that are surrendered; they desperately need a home where they can know Love and Comfort. I Pray this happens soon.

If you could get this on local tv, perhaps someone will be inspired to be kind and take them and let them stay together. Why do people get pets that they only keep for a short time? There are thousands up thousands of pets dumped and often for very ridiculous reasons. I have always wanted people to walk thru the kennel or cattery and see the pathetic turned in pets cowering in fear and heartbroken over the loss of the people that they loved and trusted.

The dog called Benji in this picture is a Cairn Terrier, not a Yorkie. If you follow the link to Benji, it takes you to a picture of a Yorkie. I’m confused.

If Benji is the dog in the picture you might want to contact either Col. Potter Cairn Rescue Network or CRUSA. They are both wonderful Cairn Terrier rescue groups and will find the perfect home for the dog in the picture.

thank you so much Sherry. Bruno would have a really hard time getting out without benji – there are just so many Bruno’s 🙁 plus, it’s so unfair to separate them – they’re bonded and so sweet together

They deserve to stay together. Both are purebreds and the cairn terrier is not more important and any less adoptable than the Staffordshire terrier. They are a family and deserve to be protected and loved together. They’ve already been through too much for a lifetime. I would take them if I had room, but already have three. Someone with a home, have a heart and give them a happy place for Christmas.

I would really love to adopt both of them together. My Husband and I will be moving into a bigger private house this coming Jan. But I live so far away in Finland. I don’t know if I can adopt them. I always wanted to have a dog in my life. And now I found them but they just to far away .. Please contact me on this. I had three beautiful bunnies, Mixi, Sixi and Dixi.

Why would you neuter your dogs and care for them to give them up? Wish right now I didn’t live in Canada. I have 3 dog rescues 3 cat rescues and 4 horse rescues
. 36 acres of peace and quiet
    Wish they were here.

Would you dump your children defenceless creatures dependant on a human for their daily needs shame on you accept your responsibilities, you are unfit as a human friend they would give their life for their masters no greater love hath an animal for his humans .You have let them down, calling on our caring Angels they need you now
