As a once lonely and deserted dog who was found by Good Samaritans tied to a tree in Southern California, Eden now waits patiently for a human of her own and of course – a real home. So how does she get attention? Whenever anyone passes by her shelter enclosure, Eden stretches out her paw and tries to hold hands with anyone who passes by.
It had been popular rescuer Suzette Hall, founder of the rescue, Logan’s Legacy 29 started in memory of her son, who had been called to help when a Good Samaritan found the dog that had been in the same spot for weeks. Someone tied her to a tree, but no one wanted to take her home.

Poor baby was dumped and we have rescued her from the streets
She is skin and bones and needs a home to get better in
We are urgently looking for a foster for her
Sadly it appears she should be a only dog
But she is the sweetest baby girl you will ever meet
Even potty trained and loves her walks

When found, Eden was little more than skin and bones. Cuts and wounds covered her tiny body, and no one knows how long she had been there – most likely had been hoping the person who abandoned and betrayed her would return. People had stopped by where Eden waited and gave her food and water, and she would always greet them with a friendly tail wag. No one knows why she stayed around.
There I was, under the tree. People would stop and pet me. Someone left me a cup of water which was nice because after I drank the whole cup, I felt full for a little bit and the big growl in my tummy went away.
I would wiggle and give kisses and beg people to take me home. Some people who seemed to love me, left me a big bucket of water and some kibble. I was so thankful that the growl in my tummy was gone and there was more food to eat. I remember one time I ate so much and it all came back up. I think my tummy forgot what food was.

When Suzette arrived, it seemed as if Eden knew instantly life was going to get better. She was rushed to the Camino Pet Hospital where she began treatment for starvation and a host of skin and body infections. It wasn’t long before Eden revealed her beautiful spirit – Eden was no doubt a lover.
Eden was given a kennel of her own to rest and recover; comfortably she curled up to sleep. And then Eden decided, on her own terms of course, it was time to make friends, and as the staff members passed by, Eden pushed out her paw between the bars of her enclosure. Staff members bent down and gently pressed the white paw into their hands.

As sweet as Eden is and as many handshakes as she continues to reach out for, this girl still doesn’t have a home. For the best home ever, it would be one where Eden would be the only pet. She is working with a trainer at the vet in order to help her build back her self confidence, but that continues to be a work in progress.
