Maybe a day or two late for a Valentine’s Day rescue story, but one brave mother dog wanting to help her six little ones made her own brave move forward.
This brave mom didn’t need to check the calendar; she just knew she wanted help.

For years, the stray mother dog had been seen on the streets on the Houston streets. She was very shy and very scared and would not let rescuers too close. She produced litter after litter and scavenged through the alleys searching for food. She never knew the safety of a warm home, but hid her puppies as best she could. Many of her puppies died, but the mother dog continued. She had known no other life.
And then life changed…

According to Corridor Rescue, a nonprofit located in Magnolia, Texas, it had been an incredible moment of trust when the mother dog led volunteers JaNell and Robby to the location where she had been hiding her puppies. What followed were hours of dedication and heart; the women crawling into tight, dark spaces under a home, carefully and patiently rescuing each puppy, one by one.

Finally, with patience and compassion, another volunteer arrived and was safely able to trap the mother dog; finally able to bring the endless exhausting cycle of surviving and raising litters of puppies on the dangerous streets.
And, now instead of fighting to survive, this brave mom gets to focus on what she does best — loving and nurturing her six little Valentines in safety.
This Valentine’s Day rescue was made possible by a dedicated foster family, who opened up a nursing suite in their home for Arianna and her nursing litter…and by The NOAH Center for approving all six puppies to transport North once they fully medically recover.
