At BARC Animal Shelter in Houston, a four-month-old Australian Cattle dog mix is in immediate need of help. She was recently returned to the shelter from her foster home, and now hopes there is a rescue organization or an adopter in her near future.
Meadow arrived at the shelter on December 4, 2025. She had been a stray and was adopted on December 11, 2025. Sadly, she was recently returned.

Our hearts break as a volunteer captured a photo of Meadow in the corner of a kennel nervously shaking and clutching her soft toy for comfort. The overcrowded shelter has posted a humane euthanasia deadline for Tuesday, February 17, 2026 if Meadow has not been rescued.
Meadow #A2047952.
This is what we know about this puppy from shelter volunteers who describe her as the “most perfect baby girl.” She is both tiny and cute and has a sweet personality. She is scared of the world, but why not? Not only had she been pushed out onto the streets and left to wander as a stray, but she also had a home for awhile, but the people returned her to the shelter.
As for Meadow’s medical evaluation, the shelter noted she arrived with hair loss on the tip of her tail and possible ringworm prior to arriving. She was released to a foster home, but it is likely she had not been treated, since upon her return her tail is still noted to have hair loss.

It is recommended Meadow be examined for ringworm by a veterinarian and necessary treatment.
