At the Pennsylvania SPCA, Saturday was AMAZING. The rescue organization held an open house and found homes for 52 animals, including 19 dogs and 33 cats. The adoptions list included some long-term dogs, such as Casserole, Moon Pie, Frazier, Diddy and Hope Sindell.

Hope Sindell is seven years old and a pit bull mix. She had been looking to be the only pet in the home – making finding that perfect home more difficult. For three years, Hope waited very patiently for someone to see her.
Never losing hope, there had hardly been a day Hope didn’t watch every person walk past her kennel. One can only imagine her sadness as she watched other dogs walking out the door going to their new homes. Still Hope waited and waited.

And then came the day every shelter rescuer and volunteer hope to witness. One day last month, her life changed.

And Hope’s future came from within the shelter. One of the incredible volunteers took a chance on her, and that chance turned into forever. Hope is now home. She is having fun going on adventures, making new friends; why she even gets along with the resident cat. And the love; there’s never enough love, but Hope never dreamed life could be this great.
Her story is proof of what we already know – the shelter’s long-term residents are just as wonderful, just as deserving and just as ready to love as any other dog. You don’t need to be a volunteer or “someone special” to adopt them; you just need to open your heart.
Hope Sindell waited three years for her happy ending. Let’s not make the others wait that long. Ask us about them today.
