Ten tiny dogs abandoned in crate in desolate area barked and barked until someone came to help

It had been on April 1, and independent rescuer Suzette Hall had received a message from a Good Samaritan saying she had heard barking in an area near the 710 freeway and a riverbed in Cudahy, California. The kind person told Hall that a crate full of small dogs were in a crate; they had no food or water, and there was no doubt the dogs needed to be rescued since they had no food or water.

Maybe it was an April Fool’s Day joke Suzette thought for a moment? If only, and it was truly a miracle the dogs were found. No one even driving by would have looked along the desolate area where the dogs had been abandoned.

Here they are: (Please note readers must have a Facebook account in order to view Facebook Watch videos. We post multiple photos and apologize for any inconvenience.)

When Suzette and her rescue team arrived, a blanket had covered the crate, and the moment Suzette lifted the purple blanket, the dogs were so relieved and so happy someone had found them. Tails wagged, pups jumped on top of each other, and each and every dog wanted to be fed and given water.

i really don’t understand how this person who did this thought they would survive out there.

The dogs were all transported to Hall’s partner veterinarian where each dog was taken out of the crate, examined and treated. Some of the dogs suffered from mange, some were senior and had heart murmurs and others will need specialized care.

All of the dogs were extremely friendly and sweet, and all they wanted was to be held, petted and loved.

And I can’t even tell you how sweet they are.

The dogs are in need of a lot of care, and Suzette is asking for donations.

And now for a summary of each of the dogs as told by Hedy. All of the dogs have been examined, bathed, nails trimmed, tested for parasites, started on flea control, vaccinated, treated for mange and of course pampered. All of the dogs have diseased teeth.

  1. E.T is the oldest. He is almost hairless, few teeth left and as sweet as pie.
  2. Chicken and Piglet!! So cute. Piglet has thin white hair so you can see his pink skin. And Chicken is tan with a cute little white bridge of his nose.
  3. Eggo is cream colored and has floppy ears. Also thin coated. He feels so warm and cuddly.
  4. Pooh Bear is the only shy one but he warms up quick. Taller red chi mix.
  5. We have Elvis. The biggest boy! He is black and tan and also had the longest pinky toe nail I have ever seen!!
  6. Scooby is medium sized and tan!! He has a little cherry eye and waited for me to pet him before he would eat his food. Eggo and Pooh Bear did that too!! There’s Eyore. He is one of the bigger ones. He has two cherry eyes and rolls over to show me his tummy when I pet him!
  7. Barry! Is the youngest and the reddest. His thin coat is white, but his skin is bright red. He is a little lover boy!!
  8. Banana is perfection. Tan tri-colored with a light tan that is almost yellow, and his little snout is a little crooked. He likes his tummy rubbed too!! I think that’s ten!!

Thank you everyone for making this possible and on April First no less.
