Platinum Hill Rescue, located in Bismarck, Missouri, has stepped up to rescue Kylo Ren, whose story as told by the Kansas Humane Society, would break anyone’s heart.
Kylo had been surrendered to the Kansas Humane Society after his family was evicted and had no one to take care of him. The dog had initially been accepted by the Kansas Humane Society, but because he tested positive for heartworms, he was no longer a candidate for adoption. There had been no interest from fosters or adopters, and his time was running short.
Kylo Ren was reported to be great with children, and he had been living with a two-year-old child and was described as incredibly playful. He knows his commands – sit, stay, come and shake. He will tell you when he needs to go outside by barking and pacing at the door if someone is home. Kylo has had accidents in the home when left unattended.
He cannot be crated and will break through; he was not noted to be destructive and had not been with other dogs in the home.
There is no doubt, Kylo is a sweet dog who is starving for love and medical care.
Kylo had been desperate for a foster home, and even though he had been started on Doxycycline treatments, his recovery will be a long one. Because of his medical status and Kansas Department of Agriculture regulations, Kylo has be be transferred to a veterinary clinic by a licensed rescue until his health is cleared.
His veterinary examination revealed abnormal respiratory sounds. His lungs sounded normal, but his heartbeat could not be heard on the right side. In his past home, he had been kept both indoors and outdoors. His body condition was rated as a 3/9 score. He has already been successfully treated for hookworms.
