At BARC Animal Shelter in Houston, Texas, two very sweet Weimaraner mix puppies are begging for freedom and a chance to live full lives. Both female puppies are barely a year old and have no idea why having been brought to an overcrowded animal shelter most likely signals the end of their lives.
The photographs shows how the puppies plead with their eyes pressed hard against the bars of the shelter cages. They stretch their paws out hoping to capture the attention of a would be adopter. “Please pick me!”
The wo puppies (A1986752) and (A1986754) were confiscated in a minor bite case on December 28. Both puppies have been described by shelter personnel as friendly, however they are now on the euthanasia list. The report stated a woman had found the puppies as strays and took them into her home, but they had a fight with the woman’s dog, and when she tried to break it up, the dogs bit her on her arms. She did manage to break up the fight but had to take her dog to the vet.
The dogs are “rescue only.” As for behavior notes, the puppies appear very friendly with their paws on the door, tails wagging and begging for attention.
These puppies obviously have had no training, so how would they even know proper behavior. Please help them find a safe place where they can have a chance. Right now, their futures are bleak.
