In a recent news release by the Schenectady Police and Mohawk Hudson Humane Society, the investigation continues in a disturbing case of animal cruelty and neglect. Lavender, the severely neglected and abused dog, appeared to have had one ear cut off along with a long line of other injuries.

Lavender was rescued on March 30 in Schenectady after a resident found her and called authorities for help. Lavender is currently feeling better after being treated and remaining in the care of the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society. She still has a long way to go but remains sweet and loveable.
The reward money has been offered by Partners in Animal Welfare, Animal Nation, the New York State Humane Association and a private donor.
One suspect, Basean D. Brooks, 31, has been arrested and faces animal abandonment; authorities do not know how Lavender sustained her terrible injuries.
Anyone with information is asked to call 518.382.5245 or 518.788.6566.
Despite this horrible abuse Lavender remains a friendly, gentle and loving dog. Lavender requires much needed veterinary care to live a happy and healthy life. Make this a reality for lavender and other animals at the shelter by donating to the link below.
