In Watts, California, the temperatures on Wednesday night had dropped to the low 50s; much too cold for puppies no older than a few weeks of age. Three tiny puppies had been huddled together inside a trash can trying to stay warm. A heartless owner had abandoned them in the alley; it appeared it had been sadly destined the innocent puppies would meet their slow, painful end.
It had been Suzette Hall, founder of Logan’s Legacy 29, and rescue volunteers who received the heartbreaking messages about the puppies. It had been a passer-by who found them and had reached out to friends on social media pleading for help.
At the same time, Hall had been helping out trying to rescue a dog adopted from the Carson Animal Shelter who had fled just moments after arriving at her new home. Volunteers had been covering the area looking for the pup. Suzette was no where close to where the puppies were found, but couldn’t shake the photos she received of the shivering little ones from her thoughts.
She called out for help:
So I got a hold of Sandra and Arturo and my dear friends jumped to the call
When they got there, there they were huddled together inside
Cold and skin and bones
The rescuers carefully turned the trash container on its side and one by one removed the shivering puppies. Sadly, the puppies are in poor physical condition. It is not known how long they had been there.

Their lives are changing now, and they are not trash. Tonight they spent their time cuddled in warm blankets with a trusted foster, and tomorrow they will be going to the veterinarian hospital for needed treatment.

And just as a loving side note; their foster parent told us the two males and one female puppies are absolutely the sweetest little ones – already handing out kisses in gratitude.
