Help to save a life: Young dog’s world torn apart and he is absolutely terrified

In Crowley, Louisiana, we meet a one-year-old brindle dog who is terrified at the local shelter. It’s obvious he has never known life outside of where he had been living, and now amid the clanging of metal bowls, the strangers walking by his shelter cage and the endless barking of the other dogs, Leo is unable to figure out his place in all of this confusion.

And so we call upon social media for help. Rural shelters rarely have funding to keep any stray dog for more than the amount of time required by local ordinances for owners to claim their pets. Just look at those pleading eyes.

We don’t have much information on Leo except knowing he needs rescue, a foster home or someone to take a chance and adopt him. He is heartworm positive, however funds are being pledged to help an approved rescue with veterinarian expenses. Volunteers at the shelter describe him as a “sweetheart.”

Leo has hardly had any time to live; he deserves better.
