At the Miami-Dade Animal Services, help is needed for a very sweet natured dog, dubbed Buddy, who had the misfortune of having been severely neglected by his owner.

Although the circumstances as to how Buddy arrived at the shelter remain unclear, his collar had been embedded deep into his neck which is now being treated for an infection. His wound has since been debrided, cleaned and closed with a drain. Because of the rampant infection, purulent fluid is still being released, and his face continues to swell.

As of today, Buddy is QAR (Quiet, Alert, Responsive), however the shelter advises hospitalization for him to recover. He has not been eating. Buddy needs rescue immediately and he does qualify for the Sun Program under Category D2.

The shelter has given Buddy a deadline, and he must be out of the shelter with an approved rescue no later than this afternoon by 3:30 p.m. Please share Buddy’s plight with approved rescue organizations, friends, family and social media contacts. Sharing saves lives, and Buddy needs everyone’s help to see the sun rise tomorrow on Valentine’s Day. Give Buddy the gift of life.

Adoptions are made in person at the shelter. Reference #A2344278.
