Texas didn’t think Andre should live but this friendly dog has no adoption interest

At the All Fur Animals Rescue in Orange, Virginia, Andre is waiting for someone to love him. He is a healthy and friendly dog, yet no one has wanted to help him find his own special place in the world; one where he can be loved, have adventures and feel safe and happy.

Following is Andre’s story:

I was going to die 4 weeks ago, but I am still here.Texas did not think I deserved to live, I was dumped on the street and then picked up by the uniform guys.

After that I was waiting in this cell, and was not sure what was next. I could hear the yelp from the dog next to me trying to escape. But I tried to keep my stuff together, observed it all and tried to stay collected.

This nice lady gave me a treat and took this picture you see. I was so desperate for comfort and kindness. I almost had forgot what that was.

Fortunately, Andre was rescued and transported to the Virginia based rescue organization, but due to a lack of foster homes and families interested in adoption, Andre had to go into boarding. From Andre’s perspective, life hasn’t changed much for him. Yes, he is neutered and he does get more frequent walks, but he’s still in a kennel and surely must be wondering why no one wants to take him home.

Andre is described as a very sweet 90-pound, five-year-old dog who loves everyone, doesn’t react to cats and is fine with other dogs. His ideal home would be one with peace and quiet and perhaps a yard to sniff. Andre doesn’t like sudden unpredictable movements or yelling, so it is thought he would do best in an adults only home.
