Sweet dog spent her life breeding litters and then she was dumped at gates of shelter to die

Meet Dorothy; this poor gal spent years breeding countless numbers of litters of puppies, but when her fertility likely began to wane, she was no longer worth the effort or the time. And off she went to the City of Mobile Animal Services, and with the click of her leash at the gate, her owner abandoned her and sped away.

Fortunately, the staff arrived early at the shelter and found Dorothy. This friendly pup has had a most difficult life, and she deserves better.

Dorothy is only five-years-old and weighs 62 pounds.

Time is running out for Dorothy due to overcrowding in the shelter, and since she is considered a senior dog, she has had zero interest.

Meet Anaken, a two-year-old who has been consistently overlooked for the more popular puppies. He has been one of the longest residents at the shelter and has spent half of his life there. He is depressed and losing his “spark” – he needs to find someone of his own to love and be loved. Imagine, this poor sweetheart has been at the shelter for 330 days!

Anaken weighs 44 pounds, loves other dogs and children.
