In Manhattan, a pink pigeon found in New York City last week died on Tuesday. Experts at the Wild Bird Org., speculate the bird had been dyed for a gender reveal. The pigeon, dubbed Flamingo by his rescuers, likely died from inhaling toxins from the dye.

The domestic, king pigeon, barely more than a fledging, was turned over to the Wild Bird Fund after a Good Samaritan found the bird at Madison Square Park. And despite their best efforts to mitigate the fumes and keeping him calm and stable, sadly Flamingo died during the night.
Specialists at the bird rescue and sanctuary tired different methods to remove the dye and had hoped the bird would survive and grow new feathers eventually. Unfortunately, Flamingo had already shown signs of malnourishment and stress; obviously the bird didn’t have the strength to survive such a heartless deed.
Even without the added complication of the toxic dye, he would not have survived in a city park as a white, helpless bird.
