The DAR Animal Rescue (Diasozo Animal Rescue) is located in Karsitsa, Greece, and three women have been rescuing stray, abused and mistreated animals for the last 10 years.
Just recently, a driver spotted an elderly dog in the middle of the road appearing to be in awful condition. The dog could barely walk or hold his head up; his fur was covered in burrs and it was clear the old pup was suffering.
Ermioni, a founder of the rescue, rushed out to the location and was able to secure a muzzle on the dog and brought her to the organization’s emergency veterinarian. An examination revealed a multitude of diseases including ehrlichiosis accompanied by a weakened heart and arthritis in his rear legs.
We know nothing about his past or his exact page, but we believe he is over 18 years old.

The rescuer dubbed the dog Big Ben, and for the next week he remained at the veterinary hospital where he was placed on a carefully selected diet and pain relief medication.
Big Ben remains at the shelter, and because of his age will not be available for adoption, but rather will be lounging at the shelter and enjoying every comfort and as much love as he can accept.

Senior companions are wonderful. We have 3 rescued seniors right now who are “low maintenance snuggling buddies”!!! Wouldn’t have it any other way😀😀😀
