In the Rio Grande Valley of Texas, a young German shepherd named Boo is scheduled to be euthanized on Wednesday at the local, rural shelter. Boo had been surrendered six months ago, and if that part of her life hasn’t been sad enough, the latest reports reveal so much more.

Since Boo entered the shelter, she has not left her kennel cage – not even once; no exercise, no attention and no emotional stimulation. And now the shelter is out of space, and of course, the dogs that have been there the longest are the first to die.

The Shenandoah Shepherd Rescue is asking for help:

Without a foster to take a dog out of boarding, there is absolutely nothing we can do. Boo will die on Wednesday without us, and she will have spent six long months in nothing but confinement, never experiencing the love that she could find.
