At the Tehama County Animal Care Center in Red Bluff, California, Frederick waits for someone to take him home. The seven-year-old German shepherd has lost everything he’s ever known. And he wonders why he’s at the shelter.

Frederick has been a model citizen at the shelter. He’s described as sweet and loving. In fact, the volunteers interacting with this boy call him a “velcro dog.” He softly wags his tail when he sees someone coming to take him out for a walk, and he just wants to be near you. After a few sniffs around the play yard for new smells, he returns and just wants to be by your side.

he is what many have described as a gentleman dog.

Save the nor-cal shelter dogs

This dog is done with his puppy years; he’s calm, neutered and good with other dogs. He shares a kennel with two other dogs in this overcrowded shelter.

Here’s the part to bring us all to tears:

the volunteer didn’t want to put him back in the kennel because it just breaks his heart to see his disappointment. He wants a loving home so bad.

Sadly, Frederick is one of the longer residents at the shelter. Perhaps watching the following beautiful video will help people share his plight? Please share:
