In Baltimore City, Maryland, a skeletal dog is in need of immediate help after he was found tied to a pole covered in wounds and his own urine. Now dubbed Jolly, he was brought to BARCS.Org in Baltimore.

The two-year-old unaltered male only weighs 28 pounds and is severely underweight. It could only have been a heartless person who abandoned him in the cold and left him shivering; the lack of body fat and his sparse coat left him visibly shivering. But no matter – because this sweet dog greeted everyone with his calm demeanor and of course, his wagging tail.

the world has clearly not been kind to him recently, if ever, but this fella seems to have put his past behind him, accepting the love we’ve promised him in the future.

Upon examination at the shelter, Jolly’s coat was dull and coated in urine. He also has pressure sores/dermal wounds on his ears and hip points, as well as multiple abrasions on his muzzle with mild muzzle swelling. He is also emaciated, with a body condition score of just a 1/9, so he is currently on a strict refeeding schedule in order to gain weight back safely and steadily.

Jolly deserves much better than what he has obviously been through, and it is surely a miracle Jolly has not let his past neglect and possible abuse define who he is. Everyone who has met Jolly is excited to see how with love and care, this dog, made of pure love and kindness, turns out to be.

Jolly needs immediate rescue because of his condition and is asking an approved rescue organization to step up and help.
