Mayze and Sergeant are a bonded pair of German shepherds who stay close to each other and provide each other with as much comfort and security they can muster up in a noisy shelter. They are at the Moreno Valley Animal Shelter and are past due for having adoption offers, and now the two are scheduled to be euthanized.

According to shelter notes, both dogs are calm and well-behaved. They love the outdoors and are in good physical condition. Pledges of $1,700 have been promised to an approved rescue organization that can properly care for these two beautiful dogs.

SERGEANT – A522520 I am a neutered male brown and black German Shepherd. The facility staff think I am about 7 years old.

Shelter behavior notes:

INTAKE NOTES:

“04/28/23 took both A522520 & A522521 out for a walk together. They both did well even if they were over excited. There was some pulling & going all over the place for smells which we allowed while in the back field since they had been in the kennel for so long. After walking them in the field first, in case they wanted to use the facilities, we then moved on to around the block & by that time, they had calmed down some. The male (A522520) does stay close to the female (A522521) although she normally walks behind him, he will stop to look for her & then bump his head on her side. At times he walks leaning into her. Both did well, nice pups.”

Please share these senior shepherds with approved rescue organizations, friends, family and social media contacts. Time is running short, and these dogs deserve better. Follow their plight here.

  1. If they like other dogs (we have 4 rescues and they can be transferred to Washington state, they can come to us and join our family pack.

  2. SUPER URGENT! IT WOULD BE “BEYOND” CRIMINAL TO ALLOW THEM TO KILL THESE SWEET BEAUTIFUL SENIORS!

    WE CAN DONATE AND/OR SPONSOR!
