Cooper only weighs 12- pounds and is a 10-year-old Maltese. This sweet, loving little guy is blind, and although he doesn’t let his physical challenge get him down as can be seen in his short video, his life is about to end because of the lack of space at the Downey Animal Shelter in California.

Check out his video:

PetHarbor Adoption Listing:

COOPER – ID#A5498021

My name is Cooper and I am described as a male, white Maltese

The shelter thinks I am about 10 years old.

I have been at the shelter since Aug 17, 2022.

For more information about Cooper, call:
Los Angeles County Animal Control – Downey at (562) 940-6898
Ask for information about animal ID number A5498021

According to the shelter, Cooper also has a heart murmur. He has a possibly old injury to his left front leg, and x-rays did show some changes to the bone. Cooper gets around fine in his kennel now and does walk on all four legs. He knows when someone is coming, and his hearing is excellent.

He gets really excited and loves to get attention. Offer to foster? He deserves a great and loving final chapter.

  1. I feel so helpless. I am in Washington state or I would foster Cooper in a heartbeat……..

I hope someone local can open up their heart and house for this precious little treasure. Cooper deserves to be part of a loving furever family who will treat him as a beloved family member for his entire life.

  2. We have had blind dogs and they are like ANY other dog: love Grammy & Grampy, love to steal food & get treats, love attention & snuggles, HATE bath time & the vet with a passion…….

We have a blind dog now and he’s absolutely adorable and very precious to us. He doesn’t know that he’s blind. He acts like the others in our pack of rescues……..

  3. SUPER URGENT! THEY WILL DEFINITELY KILL THIS TINY BLIND SENIOR
WITHOUT YOUR HELP! PLEASE PLEASE HELP THIS ULTIMATE SWEETHEART!
