Homeless dog too sad to raise his head for dinner after 5 years at shelter

Detroit, MI – A homeless dog named Bear has grown so sad over his lonely existence that he no longer raises his head for dinner. On Sunday, the Detroit Animal Welfare Group (DAWG) shared a video of Bear, writing:

Poor Bear is so depressed he doesn’t even lift his head for dinner anymore…..sitting in a kennel for over 5 years staring at the same walls gets old.

According to Bear’s adoption profile, he has a sweet and loving personality, despite a sad past:

Even though he was neglected by his former owner… you would never know it!! He holds absolutely no grudges!! He is the sweetest boy you could ever lay eyes on!! Bear is a sweet and affectionate couch potato and just wants to be loved. He is an adorable, fun and happy pup that would love a home where he can be given all the love he deserves!
Bear is potty trained and crate trained and knows his basic commands.

But nobody wants to give Bear a chance and the loneliness is obviously taking a toll. According to the rescue group, Bear is a couch potato who is great with people. However, he needs to be placed in a home with no small dogs or cats.
