In South Carolina, an animal advocate and rescuer had been searching for an abandoned dog a resident from a trailer park had reported a few days earlier. The weather had been frightful, and the pouring rain made searching for the dog difficult.

Despite the weather, Angela Simmons had no intentions of giving up, and when she spotted the dog and saw his sad face as the rain poured down upon him, she stopped and slowly approached. His nose and his paws were irritated from having spent so much time outdoors with little care. It didn’t matter though – this sad pooch wanted help and had a lot of love to give.

Auction For A Kaws, a non profit rescue organization located in Greenville, stepped up to help. The dog dubbed Murphy was placed in a foster home where he started his new life with a visit to the veterinarian, warming up to humans and other house pets and soon learning what it was like being wanted and loved.

Murphy is described as having a “sunny disposition”, loves other dogs, is very intelligent and is anxious to please.

Murphy has been patiently waiting for this “furever” home.

We are so thrilled to offer Murphy for adoption! Murphy is a 45 pound pit mix located in Greenville South Carolina. He is approximately 3 1/2 years old, housetrained, very loving, walks great on a leash and loves all people. Please share Murphy’s story; he does sound like the perfect dog. We’re sure he just needs his story and of course, that adorable face over social media, because his new humans just haven’t found him yet. Sharing saves lives and makes families complete.

  1. I am so happy for Murphy that he was found and cared for by good people!!! I hope someone local can open up their heart and house for Murphy. This precious treasure deserves to be part of a loving furever family who will treat him as a beloved family member for his entire life…

I shudder to think about the dog fighters finding and abusing nice dogs……

One of our rescue dogs was a bait dog. He is now a cuddle bug (right now he’s sleeping peacefully on my husband’s lap). He does “boss around” our other rescues but that’s his only “flaw”…… otherwise he’s very social and gets along great with other dogs……. One does need to allow rescues to fully “decompress” during the first few months………
