In Houston, Texas where animal cruelty and neglect often times seem insurmountable, comes the reality of what so many abandoned dogs face in their daily struggle just to survive. Melrose Park Neglected Dogs posted a heartbreaking photo of a stray dog in the Parks 1 parking lot – a background of trash that had been piled up for many months and a dog whose back legs likely had been injured after having been struck by a car; the driver never bothered to stop and help.

Today Dana found this injured dog and the decision was to call the SPCA ambulance. What are her chances? We do not know but it was 102 today and with no place to take her so we chose alternative help. This is not cruel, this is being humane.

The cruelness came from her previous owners who abandoned her or let her roam stray and the vehicle that hit her back legs and kept going. Thank you SPCA ambulance for coming so quickly.
