Not a single adoption offer for ‘ugliest dog’ Icy

At the Lincoln County Humane Society, in St. Catharines, a five-year-old Cairn terrier is waiting patiently for his new family, but no one has even submitted an adoption application.

Check out Icy’s video:

Icy – A44058442
Male – Cairn Terrier mix
5yrs old

Icy has special needs and requires a very safe home to help him overcome his past. Now don’t get us wrong; once he warms up to someone, he is the sweetest little chap who loves being on your lap and receiving belly rubs. He loves to play and likes to chase his toys around the yard.

“His perfect home has no small children, calm and kind dogs and committed owners willing to house break and train Icy. He is nervous of strangers at the beginning and would require a slow introduction. Due to his nervousness around new people, he could be a fear biter and also guards his food and self. Adult home only.

Icy was neglected prior to arriving at LCHS. He has medical concerns and his new adopters must be willing to continue providing care for Icy’s medical needs.”

It seems some people walk into shelters and ask for the “ugliest dog.” Although this writer has NEVER met an ugly dog, if that is what will help Icy find the perfect human, then who is arguing?

So how about it? Please share Icy’s story and his video with friends, family and social media contacts. Sharing saves lives.

  1. This dog is absolutely adorable…… I wish he was in Seattle, I could foster him (& happily fail as a foster)……

I hope someone local can open their heart and home for this precious little treasure. He deserves to be rehomed and treated as a beloved family member……

  2. There is nothing ugly about Icy, but it sounds like he does come with some baggage. I hope he finds the loving home he deserves.
