A teen in Weymouth, Massachusetts, is accused of stomping his family’s dog to death. As reported by Boston.com, 19-year-old Shykeim Basden is facing multiple charges for the May 25 incident which killed his family’s Chihuahua, Coco.
The police were contacted by a person who stated that Basden had just killed a dog – when officers arrived, a witnessed claimed that the teen had stomped on Coco multiple times before leaving with the dog. The authorities were informed that Basden was likely going to toss the dog’s body into a nearby pond. While searching the area, the dog’s body was found along the shore.
Later the same night, the authorities received a tip that Basden might be at Weston Park – the police arrested him after finding him in a car with friends. Basden has pleaded not guilty to multiple charges, including cruelty to animals, malicious killing of a domestic animal, threatening to commit a crime, and vandalism to property.
The case is being moved to Norfolk Superior Court.
