In Jefferson County, Alabama, authorities are asking for the public’s help identifying the driver who abandoned a litter of puppies by Little Cove Way and Alliance Road in the western part of the county.
According to the Alabama.com, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, a witness posted on social media a dark colored vehicle possibly a Chevrolet with a sticker on the the left back bumper, saw the person drop off the puppies on the side of the road and even run over some of them while speeding away:
“…they didn’t even have sense to put them far enough away from the car as to not run them over,” a Facebook post stated from the motorist who saw the heartbreaking ordeal.
Two of the puppies were killed and two were injured. The rest are now being cared for by the man who found them. The Greater Birmingham Humane Society announced a reward has been offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person involved in this case of animal cruelty:
“The GBHS is offering a $500 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the individual that dumped a litter of puppies out of a car on Monday in Alliance and then ran over them killing two. If you have any information, please call Crime Stoppers, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office at 205-328-9311 or the GBHS at 205-942-1211. You may remain anonymous.
