At the Midland Animal Shelter in Midland, Texas, Oreo is in desperate need of a hero. At 12-years-old, and once a cherished member of his family, or at least he thought so – he was surrendered to the overcrowded shelter.

And now Oreo hides in fear, and if fear had a face, no doubt it belongs to Oreo. He has no idea why he’s at the shelter. What did he do wrong?

Senior dogs have a more difficult time being adopted, but why not? Here are some great reasons:
1.I don’t like how a senior dog is homeless.
2. I’m very adaptable and resilient.
3.My wild and crazy puppy days are over and I’m pretty calm.
4.No training required. Chances are I’m housetrained.
5.My sense of who I am is still intact.
6.If you’re older too maybe we can reverse the clock a bit and grow younger together.
7.We can enjoy one day at a time.
8. Adopting me proves that it’s never too late for happiness.

We would take Oreo in a heartbeat if we could arrange transportation and for a rescue group to pull him for us. He will fit right in with our pack of senior rescues!!!
