In Galax, Virginia, firefighters arrived on Sunday evening, June 20, to rescue a dog whose paw had been pinned into the ornate armrest of a bench seat.
Moose, the dog was discovered with his paw severely pinned in the armrest. Moose refused to share the details of his entanglement, but nonetheless wanted to be freed. The emergency response team Rescue 4, from the Galax Fire Department, arrived with the specialized equipment ready to disassemble the bench if needed.

To be sure that Moose would not suffer further injury while his paw was wedged into the metal, Healing Springs Animal Hospital Doctor Heather was called in to sedate him. Once calm, Moose’s paw was manipulated out of the bench arm after it was discovered there was no impalement. Sedation was reversed, and Moose was monitored until function returned.
He was then turned back over to a very grateful family. Thank you Doc!!! You are the best!! Stay Safe!
Many thanks to all of the heroes.
