In the San Bernardino Valley, two tiny dogs had been abandoned by their owner. What heartless person could even imagine such small dogs being able to fend for themselves; find food, seek out a safe place to hide and the needed constant vigil against hungry coyotes always poised to attack?

Faith Easdale, the director of Dream Fetchers Project Rescue along with Jim Ralston, Rocco and Jamene, answered the pleas from area residents asking for help rescuing the stray dogs who had reportedly survived for more than two years on their own.
Every rescue is important, and every life saved is one more story of success. This one, however really touched her heart:

… seeing these two trying to survive on the streets for YEARS!
The two dogs would huddle together at night because all they had were each other. They would hide behind trash bins, under cars and anyplace that could give them sufficient cover to make it through the night and find some feeling of peace in order to sleep. No doubt, both dogs always slept lightly with one eye open able to escape at a moment’s notice of danger.

It took days of planning and using humane traps to capture the dogs, but today their suffering is over. They are safe together, and their lives will move forward.

Faith has spent hours cutting the severe matting pulling on the skin of the female dog. Her fleas have been eliminated, and no longer is she non-stop scratching.

Their hard life living on the streets is over, and is no more than a distant nightmare. They will never have to search for food again nor will their lives be in danger from wild predators.

Please know that Faith and the other volunteers at Dream Fetchers rely on donations to continue with these amazing rescues. We all understand how tight the economy is for so many people, but even just a few dollars will help save a life, provide the needed veterinarian care, buy supplies and help foster rescued dogs until they are adopted.
Many thanks to everyone for supporting these fine rescues.
