Dashcam footage captured a man kicking a puppy on a busy street in Houston last week. The puppy managed to escape by dashing into a nearby culvert. A motorist had been passing by and recorded the disturbing situation, sending the footage to Grizzy’s Hood News which lead to their safety.
Residents went searching for the puppy, and found out through neighbors that puppy had been part of a litter. Sadly, one pups had already died. Isabel (tan) was captured first while Mirabel was later located in the back of a man’s truck.

Although the story of the puppies remains confusing at best, both puppies were finally safe.

The five-month-old pups, weighing 10 and 15 pounds were taken to Vergi 24/7. They suffered from anemia, tapeworms and roundworms. Both puppies had both demodex and sarcoptic mange. They were administered IV fluids and received their first medicated bath.
The two remained at the veterinary hospital for days while they were being treated. No doubt, the staff fell in love with the two puppies; they surely didn’t deserve such a difficult beginning to life.
The puppy, Mirabel, seen being kicked by the heartless man had x-rays taken. She suffered from a fracture of her fourth and third digits.

Evil and hate are real, but so are love and compassion. This man chose to spread darkness, but with the help of all involved so far, we’re able to light the way for these pups
And now, we fast forward just one week, and the puppies are learning how to be puppies. They have settled into their foster home, and their personalities are beginning to make everyone involved in their new lives smile.

Isabel is the more outgoing, playful one. She shows a lot of interest in toys. She has a small squirrel toy she likes to shake around, and she also likes chewing on Benebones.
Mirabel has more energy than before and is getting around better. The swelling in her face is gone. She’s still very sleepy but has a good appetite.

They both have broken front baby teeth. Isabel likes to use hers when foster mom isn’t paying attention to her. Their teeth may need to be pulled at some point. Mirabel has those two fractured toes in her right hindlimb that is also being watched. That type of injury would typically require a splint, but because of her skin and infections, it was prudent to leave it alone. She should heal in time though.

They are both so precious and we’re so happy they’re safe & loved now! If only they knew just how many people cared about them about.
The appropriate authorities are aware of the situation and an investigation continues. ThisIsHouston has made the report.
