A 15-year-old dog was adopted from a local shelter after a long wait. Now the pup has found his “forever home,” and he graciously has accepted his new person’s love and comfort. His story went viral, and we all hope his photo, shown lying in bed with his adopter looking so comforted and so loved, will highlight the need senior pet adoptions at animal shelters.
In a Facebook post from the New York based group Furry Friends, Gia went to the shelter and spotted this little guy.
I adopted him this morning. He’s 15 years old and too old for many people to notice. After spending years in the shelter, he finally found a home.
And so Gia brought his home.
As I lay in bed with him, he looked up at me, a smile on his face, knowing he is safe for the rest of his days. I couldn’t help but feel the warmth of his gratitude.
People commenting admitted they had shed happy tears knowing this deserving little pooch had found his forever home.
This sweet boy deserves all the love in the world, and I’m grateful to give it to him.
