Heartbreaking: Young pup waits for home everyday but adopters don’t want to put in extra work and pass him by

Spread the love

At the Humane Society of the Treasure Coast in Florida, volunteers and shelter personnel alike have tears in their eyes as a one-year-old puppy watches everyday for someone to open his kennel, love him and take him home. Everyday, visitors pass Deuce by – and it’s not for the lack of trying on this sweet guy’s part, that’s for sure.

Deuce looks forward to the shelter opening in the morning, as would be adopters check out the pets needing homes. The moment Deuce spots someone approaching his kennel, he pushes upward with his paw as if waving, wags his tail and smiles from floppy ear to floppy ear.

Sadly, no one seems to want to work with him and provide him with the training he needs to become a perfect canine citizen. So instead of stopping and meeting him to realize how utterly sweet and loving he is, visitors just walk on by.

Deuce’s smile fades, his tail drops down and that waving paw slowly retreats to the floor.

Well, there’s always tomorrow.

Meet Deuce:

According to the shelter, Deuce would do best:

I would be so good for a family with experience with untrained large breed dogs.
The Pros at HSTC say that I would benefit from training so that I remain out of the shelter for the rest of my life.
I’d like to live in a home that is appropriate for my size. I am big and clumsy!
A fenced in yard is great, but leash training and walks will help me learn how to behave in public.
I have not had much experience with children but am willing to share my home with older kids who can be gentle and respectful of pets.
I would like to live with a dog but I have not had much experience with cats. I may be willing to share my home with a feline.
I am a high energy kind of dog and am looking for a home where I can get lots of exercise every day; on and off leash.

Please check out Deuce’s story and watch his heartbreaking video. Sharing saves lives.
